On March 22nd, General Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Planning and Design (GIWP) and the World Bank Group (WBG) held a preliminary meeting on the potential strategic cooperation for the forthcoming XVIII World Water Congress (hereinafter referred to as the“Congress”). On this occasion, Dr. Li Xiaokai (Chief expert in water resources, Project Manager, World Bank) and Co-chair Shi Qiuchi (XVIII World Water Congress' International Scientific Committee) attended the meeting and exchanged thoughts and opinions on the progress made so far, sharing recent updates on water-related projects.
A preliminary strategic cooperation plan was firstly formed and agreed upon by both sides, aiming to contribute to a successful and impactful Congress. Further discussions about the role of the World Bank during the Congress have been arranged to take place in the upcoming weeks.
