On June 22nd, the International Scientific Committee (ISC) of the XVIII World Water Congress (hereinafter referred to as the“Congress”) held its 4th meeting online. ISC’s Co-Chair Madam Renée Martin-Nagle and Madam Shi Qiuchi chaired the meeting. ISC Vice Chairs and the nominated members, representatives from the IWRA’s Executive Office, and relevant personnel of the Congress Secretariat attended the meeting.

The Vice Chairs reported preparation progress of academic activities, stressing exchanges and discussions on key issues during their work. Nomination of ISC members and the proposal of Congress topics were approved at the meeting, and will be submitted to the National Organising Committee (NOC) and Congress Organising Committee (COC).

The meeting reached consensus on holding symposia(s) to properly conduct the preparation of various academic activities. According to the Congress’ timeline, ISC will endeavor to propose an international VIP list in the coming weeks.
