As of now, topics for four plenary sessions of the XVIII Congress have been decided, they are 1) Water-Economy (Agriculture, Industry, City...) - Ecology Nexus Under Changing Environment, 2) Resilient Water Infrastructures and Global Water Security, 3) Water Resources Management and Best Practices and 4) Water Ecosystem Conservative and Restoration.
The “Water Resources Management and Best Practices” Plenary Session will be held in the morning of 13th September 2023, including Keynote Speech, High-Level Panel Discussion, Q&A, etc. This session advocates the water saving practice and facilitates green development for water resources management. Therefore, this 90-mins session will surely be very productive and fabulous. We welcome your attention and participation.
We are honored to announce that we have James George (UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in China), LI Lifeng (Director of Land and Water Division, FAO), and ZHANG Jianyun (Professor of Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute; Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering) to give keynote speech.
We are also pleased to have Carol Chouchani Cherfane (Cluster leader, climate change and natural resource sustainability, UN-ESCWA), Gabriel Eckstein (Professor of Law at Texas A&M University; Past President, International Water Resources Association), ZHANG Jason (President of American Water Resources Association) and ZHANG Jiantao (Vice President of Coca-Cola Greater China & Mongolia) for the High-Level Panel Discussion.
The Plenary session will be moderated by Cecilia Tortajada (Professor in Practice of Environmental Innovation, University of Glasgow; Past President of IWRA) and WANG Zhongjing (Professor of Tsinghua University; Vice President of Ningxia University; Vice President of the China National Committee of IWRA).
