On August 16th, 2023, the International Scientific Committee (ISC) of the XVIII World Water Congress held its 15th and final meeting online. ISC Co-Chairs, Renée Martin-Nagle and Shi Qiuchi, chaired the meeting. ISC members, representatives from IWRA’s Executive Office, and the Congress Secretariat attended the meeting.

All members discussed and exchanged comments and suggestions on the preparation progress of 4 Plenary Sessions, including confirmation of VIPs, concept notes and the main programme. The preparation of the Beijing Declaration, China’s special session, the development of the Congress mobile App (H5), and the progress of invitation letters were also important topics of discussion during the meeting.

Current efforts are now focused on finalising all preparations for the XVIII World Water Congress.
