The Dujiangyan Irrigation Project, first built in 256 BC, followed the water management concept of "Taoism follows nature and unity between nature and man", creating a vivid example of the harmonious coexistence of man and nature, and it still plays an important role today. General Secretary Xi Jinping praised the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project as "a large-scale ecological water conservancy project built according to the situation, which not only benefits the contemporary time, but also benefits future generations." On September 11, the 18th World Water Resources Conference will be opened and Sichuan Dujiangyan Water Conservancy Development Center which manages the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project will host a special forum with the theme of "Precious Water for Eternity: Practice and Enlightenment of Ecological Water Conservancy" . The forum will be chaired by Gao Zhanyi, Honorary Chairman of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage. Chen Mingzhong, Director of the Rural Water Conservancy and Hydropower Department of the Ministry of Water Resources, and Wang Hua, Deputy Director of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Water Resources will deliver speeches. Zhu Zehua, Director of the Dujiangyan Water Conservancy Development Center of Sichuan Province, will make a keynote report.
