The carefully selected 50 photos, by introducing the main contents of "smooth rivers, clear waters, green banks, and beautiful sceneries", closely adhere to the theme of the congress "Water for all: Harmony between Humans and Nature", showcase the changes for the better of water ecology and environment in the urban and rural and China's efforts to meet challenges brought by industrial civilization in recent years, through full implementation of Xi Jiping’s thoughts on ecological civilization, to follow the principles of nature, respect nature and protect nature. Bearing the responsibility of a major country in mind, China has advanced holistic transformation to greener economic and social development, and committed to build a community with a shared future for mankind with joint efforts.

Professor James E. Nickum (Ni Kun), a senior member of International Water Resources Association and chief editor of Water International magazine, also exhibited his photography exhibition "China's water projects, built and proposed, through outsiders’ eyes, 1974 and 1980" with the assistance of China Water & Power Press. Two different sets of photos catch the eye of a lot of viewers by presenting a perfect contrast.
