National Institute of Biological Sciences/北京生命科学研究所
Dr. Erquan Zhang obtained his B.S. in East China Normal University, and Ph.D. in University of California – San Diego. As a Postdoctoral Associate in The Scripps Research Institute, he investigated the circadian mechanism in a whole genome scale with siRNA screen approach. He started his lab in National Institute of Biological Sciences from 2011, now his is an Associate Investigator in NIBS.
Using molecular genetics, biochemical, omics and screen approaches, his research group dissect the molecular and cellular mechanisms that how circadian clock and hypoxia mechanism interaction in mammals, found a circadian phase chemical and a new clock gene involved in circadian transcription regulation, and developed new tools to investigate circadian neuronal.
His current research interest including:
1. Adenosine anologs impact of the circadian clock: Adenosine/ATP/ATPase
2. The function and regulation of the brain clock in sleep deprivation
3. Circadian translational medicine
