Luoying Zhang received a Bachelor’s degree from Peking University in 2003, majoring in Biological Science. She received a Ph.D in Neuroscience from Northwestern University in 2009. Then she conducted her postdoctoral training at University of California, San Francisco in the laboratories of Ying-Hui Fu and Louis Ptacek. She joined College of Life Science and Technology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2015, and is currently professor and Chair of the Department of Biological Science. Her research focuses on sleep and circadian rhythm, including: 1) Exploring the role of sleep and circadian rhythm in mood regulation, so as to understand the function of sleep and circadian rhythm; 2) Using a system’s approach to investigate the regulatory mechanism and function of sleep and circadian rhythm.
