Professor Yang holds a Bachelor's and Doctoral degree in Medicine from the Second Military Medical University and Peking University, respectively. He pursued postdoctoral research at the University of Utah and the University of Pennsylvania in the United States. He then served as an Research Associate and Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
In March 2017, Professor Yang joined Dalian University of Technology as a Professor in the School of Life Science and Technology. He also served as the Vice Dean of the School of Biological Engineering from March 2019 to May 2023. In June 2023, he moved to Shanghai University of Medicine and Health Sciences and assumed the role of Executive Vice Dean at School of Clinical Medicine.
Professor Yang's research focuses on interventions for circadian disorders, encompassing non-pharmacological methods and targeted drugs, aimed at alleviating these disorders. His work also delves into the exploration of the connection between biological clocks and major chronic diseases.
